Drawing on pastoral and Area experience as well as the principles of “Natural Church Development,” we explore characteristics of healthy churches, touching on leadership, lay involvement, spiritual health, administrative structures, worship, small groups, service-evangelism and healthy relationships. In all of these areas, we will seek to see things from the congregation’s persepctive.

LEARNING TO INTERPRET THE BIBLE

Introduction:

This is an introductory study on how to understand and interpret the Bible for
yourself.

Learning Objective:

This course is designed to help those who preach and teach the Bible to “correctly handle the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15b) This course will seek to equip the student with the necessary skills for reading, studying, interpreting and applying the Bible. The object of the course will be to help the student find the plain meaning of a Biblical text and follow the common sense rules for interpreting that passage. This course will familiarize the student with the different literature found in the Bible and some different study methods necessary to properly interpret them.
